We are seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the financial operations of our growing company. This role will be responsible for managing accounting functions, financial reporting, payroll, and internal controls across multiple entities while ensuring adherence to healthcare industry regulations and professional corporation requirements.
Responsibilities- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to leadership and stakeholders
- Develop and maintain financial dashboards and KPI reporting
- Ensure compliance with healthcare industry regulations and professional corporation requirements
- Coordinate annual audits and manage relationships with external auditors
- Oversee tax compliance and coordinate with tax advisors
- Maintain adherence to GAAP and industry-specific accounting standards
- Develop and implement internal controls and accounting policies
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions
- Oversee cash management and banking relationships
- Supervise accounting staff and provide mentorship
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial matters
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Assist with special projects as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience with healthcare or professional services industry preferred
- Experience with professional corporation structures
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (Quick Books is a plus)
- Advanced Excel skills and financial modeling experience
- Experience with Private Equity Growth Environment
- Experience with ADP WFN is preferred
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
