The Impact You'll Make in this RoleAs an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Engineer will assist in the coordination and completion of site Environmental, Health and Safety compliance objectives. The position will require involvement in all aspects of EHS, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, Safety & Injury Prevention, Incident Investigation and Emergency Preparedness. The position will also play a key role in developing and completing the annual EHS plan and other continual EHS improvement objectives and activities leading to improved EHS methods and processes to impact safety within the facility.
This position requires a self-starter with strong team skills and superior interpersonal abilities.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Providing technical expertise & training on all aspects of the site's Environmental, Health & Safety Compliance efforts to include Management of Change (MOC), Ergonomics, Industrial Hygiene, Fall Protection, LOTO & Machine Guarding and Emergency Response.
- Developing appropriate documentation lab systems to comply with Solventum requirements for OSHA, EHS Management Systems and other programs as required.
- Coaching and mentoring research developers, engineers and supervision leading or supporting EHS improvement projects, program development and related activities.
- Providing technical assistance and guidance to the site by leading or assisting in committee teams and meetings, including lab safety, biosafety, chemical hygiene, EHS regulatory interpretations.
- Audits laboratory safety and other site processes to assure compliance with Solventum/OSHA policies regarding issues such as:
Management of Change, Industrial Hygiene, Confined Space Entry/Rescue, Lockout/Tagout.
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution AND two (2) years of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) experience within in a private, public, government or military environment.
OR
- High School Diploma/GED from AND six (6) years of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) experience within in a private, public, government or military environment.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in an Environmental, Health and Safety discipline from an accredited institution
- R&D knowledge and experience
- Experience in Health Care products.
- Knowledge in liquid dispensing, automated assembly, and chemical handling.
- Demonstrated experience to analyze problems, diagnose root cause, and apply corrective actions
- Demonstrated organization and communication skills, written and oral
- Results oriented with strong process and execution skills
