Nurse Practitioner - General Surgery

Overview

Fairview is seeking a General Surgery Nurse Practitioner to join the General Surgery team in the East region. In this role, you will work independently in a supportive team setting at both M Health Fairview St. John’s in Maplewood and M Health Fairview Woodwinds in Woodbury, MN, and associated locations. You will be working closely with a well-established community General Surgery group and an experienced group of Advanced Practice Providers (APP), caring for patients with a diverse range of general, breast, surgical oncology, reflux, abdominal wall reconstruction, colon surgery and bariatric disorders.

• Surgical patient care for a wide variety of conditions such as breast, oncologic, colon, foregut, complex hernia, endocrine, and bariatric in addition to general surgery
• Outpatient care for post-operative patients, and non-operative patient procedural needs
• Inpatient care including:
  Admissions and consults, daily rounding, operative assist, and discharge planning and education
• Leadership within the multi-professional team caring for your patients and within the provider group
• 1.0 FTE

• Monday – Friday with rotating weekends; hours dependent on patient care needs

• Graduate of a school of nursing and accredited Adult/Gero or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner training program
• BC/BE through the AANP or ANCC
• Licensed or ability to obtain APRN license with the Minnesota Board of Nursing
• Ability to obtain and /or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota
• Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges
• Ability to obtain ATLS within 6 months of hire
• 2 years experience in a Surgical practice as an NP is preferred

The posted pay range is for a 1.0 FTE. The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization values pay equity and considers the internal equity of our team when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical.
