Job Overview

Fairview is now hiring an Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist to join our Interventional Imaging view St. John’s Hospital in Maplewood, MN. This is a 0.8 FTE (64 hours per two weeks) position that will work the day shift with an every-third-weekend rotation and a call one night per week.

The technologist provides services to patients and physicians by creating high‑quality diagnostic imaging, delivering age‑appropriate patient care, and working collaboratively with all members of the health‑care team. The interventional technologist assists with invasive procedures in the angio suites, collects and assesses image data, and performs the scrub role assisting the radiologist.

This position is eligible for a sign‑on bonus prorated based on experience.

• Maintain patient care and participate in creating a culture of patient safety.
• Correctly operate equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines while identifying and responding to equipment problems to ensure equipment is working properly.
• Apply established standards of aseptic technique during patient preparation, draping, and set‑up for all procedures.
• Ensure patient data integrity, perform examinations, identify relevant image data accurately, and communicate pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health‑care professional.
• During invasive procedures, must be able to achieve and maintain homeostasis manually or with a mechanical device of the physician’s choice when required.
• Assist the radiologist with required catheter and wire manipulation while maintaining the required sterile technique.
• Demonstrate the ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of the population served.

• Vocational or technical training, or Associate Degree in Diagnostic Imaging or related field.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registration.
• Current BLS Certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

• 1 year experience as an interventional technologist.
• ARRT IR certification or successful completion within 18 months of hire.

The posted compensation range corresponds to the minimum and maximum pay rates outlined in your union agreement for the respective job classifications at the time of job posting. An individual’s pay rate within this range may be influenced by various factors, including FTE, skills, knowledge, educational background, and qualifying experience as specified in the contract. If your role is eligible for a sign‑on bonus, the bonus program that is approved and in place at the time of offer is what will be honored.
