Join our team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at Beacon Specialized Living Services. We are dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, and mental health challenges.
What You Can ExpectAs a DSP, you will support residents in leading independent and fulfilling lives. No prior experience is required; comprehensive training will be provided.
Daily Responsibilities- Support & Care:
Encourage residents to meet goals, following person-centered and behavior plans. - Safe Environment:
Ensure residents feel safe, respected and their rights upheld. - Meal Prep & Housekeeping:
Prepare meals per dietary specifications and assist with laundry/cleaning. - Transportation & Advocacy:
Transport to appointments, advocate, assist with documentation. - Medication Administration:
Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring correct dosage. - 24/7 Availability:
Stay awake and accessible in homes requiring round-the-clock care. - Supervise Daily
Activities:
Assist with personal care, life skills, and social activities.

- Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with individuals with mental illness and co-occurring disorders.
- Preferred:
- 1-2 years experience in healthcare, social services, or related field (optional).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work in environments with potential exposure to physical aggression and infectious disease.
