Overview

Fairview Health Services is seeking a Neurologist to join our practice in Maplewood, MN. Responsible for providing care to patients at designated sites and facilities as assigned. Examines patients and creates appropriate care plans, such as making prior diagnoses, treatment plans, and recovery. Requests necessary tests, follow-up visits, and consults with specialists as necessary. Provides consultations for requesting physicians and services on a timely basis.

Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Responsibilities
  • Examine patients, formulate differential diagnostic plans, define and order required diagnostic testing. Provide preventative, chronic disease, and acute care as needed. Ensure proper diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Prescribe medications and provide guidance regarding personal health.
  • Interpret examination findings and test results, and implement treatment plans. Consult with medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary.
  • Complete medical records and electronic order management (via inbasket); participate in cross-coverage as site needs. Follow organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Actively participate in multidisciplinary team approaches to case management.
  • Engage in utilization and quality tools and activities that promote continuous improvement in patient care, outcomes, or workflows.
  • Maintain knowledge of and comply with all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards.
  • Participate in creating and implementing improvements.
  • Perform other responsibilities as needed/assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
  • Graduate of an accredited Neurology residency training program
  • Board Certified or Board Prepared with the American Board of Medical Specialties or American Osteopathic Association
  • Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota
  • Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges
Benefits & Compensation

Compensation is described as the posted pay range for 1.0 FTE; actual pay may depend on FTE, skills, knowledge, education, experience, and market conditions. Production-based plans may offer higher pay than the posted range.
