Role OverviewReporting to the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Assistant will help execute day-to-day marketing activities, from drafting emails to coordinating visual content and maintaining our website. This is a hands‑on role that offers exposure to multiple facets of marketing, ideal for someone looking to grow in a creative and fast‑moving environment.
What You’ll Be DoingYour work will be focused across three key areas:
50% – Social Media Management- Coordinate and schedule engaging posts across Instagram, Facebook, Linked In, and Pinterest based on a shared content calendar
- Contribute to campaign planning with ideas for promotions, seasonal themes, and product highlights
- Source imagery, write captions, and support brand storytelling through consistent tone and visuals
- Monitor performance and audience engagement, making recommendations for optimization
- Collaborate with internal teams (sales, design, leadership) to align messaging and content timing
- Assist in building and deploying marketing emails, newsletters, and automated workflows using established tools and templates
- Help manage subscriber segments and email lists, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with CASL/GDPR
- Support A/B testing, list hygiene, and performance reporting
- Collaborate on email calendar planning and content development
- Perform basic Word Press content updates for blog posts, landing pages, and product/service pages
- Assist with copywriting, image sourcing, and light image editing for marketing materials
- Help with the creation of visual content using Canva, Adobe, or similar tools for both digital and print formats
- Conduct ongoing market and competitor research to support content positioning and campaign refinement
- Support cross‑functional marketing tasks and general campaign coordination
- 1–2 years of experience in a marketing, content, or digital communications role
- Familiarity with platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Linked In, and email tools like Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Omnisend, etc.
- Basic understanding of CMS platforms (e.g. Word Press), SEO, and graphic tools (e.g. Canva or Adobe Suite)
- Great writing skills and a good eye for branding and design
- A proactive, curious, and detail‑oriented mindset
- Bonus if you’re passionate about home, garden, outdoor living, or DIY content
- Salary: $50,000–$55,000 CAD annually
