Salary: CAD $36.61–$45.73 per hour.
The position is a casual appointment for a Cardiac Rhythm Devices Technologist at Ridge Meadows Hospital in Maple Ridge, B.C.
OverviewThis role performs pacemaker analysis and programming, conducts ECG and related cardiac testing, assists surgeons during implant procedures, and supports program development, training, and quality assurance across the department.
Responsibilities- Reviewing and maintaining patient records and pacemaker details.
- Performing pacemaker analysis and programming in clinics and operating rooms.
- Conducting tests such as capture and sensing threshold assessments, ECG, stress testing, and Holter monitoring.
- Monitoring pacemaker function, reporting abnormalities, and troubleshooting.
- Providing interpretations, analyses, and summary reports to physicians.
- Assisting the surgeon during implant procedures and setting individual pacemakers.
- Offering patient education during testing and explaining procedures.
- Maintaining equipment, performing routine quality control, and managing supplies.
- Participating in development and review of standards, procedures, and instructional material.
- Assisting in training and orientation of staff and residents in pacemaker functions.
- Distributing patient reports to appropriate wards or departments.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Completion of a recognized Cardiology Technology Program at the Diploma level plus successful completion of a recognized pacemaker specialty exam, plus two (2) years recent related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT) certified.
Skills and Abilities- Accurate performance of duties and adherence to quality standards.
