This role offers a stable, confirmed pipeline of Fraser Valley residential projects with a well-established builder that continues to secure and deliver repeat work. You will gain exposure to full-cycle wood-frame townhouse construction, from excavation through completion, while working in an environment that provides a clear path toward becoming a Superintendent.
The RoleThe Assistant Superintendent supports the Superintendent in managing day-to-day site operations on multi-phase, ground-oriented townhouse projects. This is a production wood-frame environment where sequencing, coordination, and consistency are critical.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with daily coordination of trades and site activities
- Support execution of the construction schedule and short-term lookaheads
- Oversee framing, building envelope, and interior trade sequencing
- Conduct daily site walks to monitor progress and quality
- Identify and address deficiencies early
- Ensure subtrades are adequately staffed and progressing on schedule
- Enforce site safety standards and Work Safe compliance
- Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings
- Review drawings and flag discrepancies prior to work proceeding
- Coordinate municipal inspections and required sign-offs
- Maintain site organization, cleanliness, and material flow
- Assist with deficiency tracking, pre-delivery walkthroughs, and turnover
- 2–5+ years of residential construction experience
- Wood-frame townhouse experience strongly preferred
- Experience as a Lead Hand, Foreman, or Junior Assistant Superintendent considered
- Strong understanding of residential construction sequencing
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
Confident communicating with and directing trades - Organized, reliable, and consistent on site
