Job Summary
- We are seeking a skilled CNC Mill Machinist with strong programming and setup experience to join our manufacturing team.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC milling machines to produce precision parts that meet quality, safety, and productivity standards.
- Program CNC milling machines using G-code and/or CAM software to manufacture precision machine parts
- Set up CNC mills, including tooling, fixtures, offsets, and work holding
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T specifications
- Machine components to tight tolerances using materials such as aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and alloy metals
- Select cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining strategies to optimize quality and cycle time
- Perform first-article inspections and in-process quality checks
- Adjust programs and setups to maintain dimensional accuracy and repeatability
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and material issues
- Work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve processes
- Maintain CNC machines and perform routine preventative maintenance
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain an organized work area
- Document CNC programs, setups, and process improvements
- Manufacturing or shop floor environment
- May involve exposure to noise, electrical equipment, and tools
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training preferred
- 3+ years of experience programming and setting up CNC milling machines
- Experience in manufacturing precision machine parts or components
- Strong knowledge of CNC controls (Haas, Fanuc, Mazak, Siemens, or similar)
- Experience with CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, Solid
CAM, or equivalent) - Ability to read and apply GD&T
- Proficient with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, CMM experience a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Ability to work independently and meet production requirements
- Experience with multi-axis (4-axis or 5-axis) machining
- Fixture design and process development experience
- Experience working in low- to mid-volume production environments
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Manual dexterity for precise wiring and assembly tasks
