PositionSummary
The Mechanical Assembler partners with engineers, designers and managers to fit and assemble components according to blueprints, manuals, engineering memos, sketches and industry knowledge. This role works with a small team and reports to the Assembly Supervisor. The position is classified as non‑exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
What You’ll Be Doing- Read and interpret manufacturing requirements, specifications, procedures, and statements of work, and provide recommendations and feedback to Management, engineers/designers, and account managers/project managers.
- Verify conformance of parts to stock list and blueprints using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
- Perform bench‑type processes to complete mechanical assemblies and subassemblies to specifications using manual tools, electronic and pneumatic tooling, which may include manual machining.
- Test and inspect finished products to ensure conformance to manufacturing specifications and correct any defects.
- Act as an active member of the assembly team, collaborating with other assemblers and technicians.
- Maintain a 5S work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition, following prescribed safety regulations and communicating defective materials.

Required Qualifications- Associate’s degree in a manufacturing‑related discipline or a 2‑year technical diploma.
- 1‑2 years of mechanical assembly related work experience.
- General mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings/blueprints or part drawings.
- Understanding of Electrostatic Discharge.
- Working knowledge of pneumatic controls.
- Interpersonal skills and a commitment to the highest quality achievable with minimal supervision.
- 3 years of mechanical knowledge or a technologist program.
- Ability to interpret and/or manipulate 2D and 3D CAD drawings.
- Flexibility to work additional hours during periods of peak demand.
- Ability to stand for extended lengths of time.
- Constant simple and firm grasping and manipulation of the hands.
- Frequently bending, reaching, stooping and twisting.
- Occasionally lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Maintain a full‑time schedule within core business hours.
- Operate tooling and work around testing equipment.
- Indoor, climate‑controlled manufacturing environment with exposure to dirt, dust, noise, machine chemicals, fumes, and other common attributes.

Compensation and BenefitsCompensation includes an hourly base rate and performance‑based quarterly profit sharing. The salary range is $19 – $24 per hour, representing the full earning potential. Starting salaries for well‑qualified new hires are typically around the midpoint of the range. Compensation is evaluated annually to remain competitive.
