The Information Security Engineer strives to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information resources at Gillette Children’s. This position will participate in a wide variety of information security related activities, ranging from the design of systems, implementation of systems, administering and maintenance of systems, as well as routine security operations.

Hours:

Monday to Friday between 7 am-5 pm. Some occasional evening or weekend shifts based on projects and system implementation.
Available for on-call support/rotation. Remote with occasional in-office meetings for projects. Able to travel within the metro area.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary range for this opportunity is $105,268 to $157,892, with a median salary of $131,580. Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience and internal equity. Salary is just one component of the compensation package for employees. Gillette supports career progression and offers a competitive benefits package, including a retirement saving match, tuition and certification reimbursement, paid time off, and health and wellness benefits for .5 FTE and above.

Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Information Technology, or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in one or more of the following areas: network security, system administration, problem solving, network protocols, firewall administration.
  • Experience analyzing high volumes of logs, network data (e.g. Netflow, FPC), and other attack artifacts in support of incident investigations
Preferred
  • CISSP
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a healthcare setting
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge and demonstrated understanding of security, risk, and control frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001 and 27002, NIST, CIS-20, COBIT, and ITIL.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations such as HIPAA and PCI
  • Demonstrated decision-making, time management, and problem‑solving skills
  • Demonstrated high degree of initiative, dedication, and innovation
  • Ability to articulate and provide context in all forms of communication and discussions.
  • Ability to work effectively on an autonomous or team basis.
  • Ability to adapt and adjust to demands of work, changes and team dynamics.
