IT Project Manager
Talent Software Services is in search of an IT Project Manager for a contract position that can be worked 100% remotely. The opportunity will be for six months with a strong chance for a long-term extension.
Position SummaryWe are seeking a Project Manager / Business Analyst hybrid to support a large, complex implementation of the MAK SYSTEM and associated workflows across multiple client sites. This individual will support a Senior PM and will be responsible for requirements gathering, documentation, data conversion coordination, project tracking, and cross‑functional communication across IT, lab operations, blood bank, and clinical teams. This is a hands‑on, detail‑heavy role that requires both PM and BA skill sets with strong communication, documentation, and implementation experience.
PrimaryResponsibilities/Accountabilities
- Lead projects of medium to high complexity, and may also support projects of high complexity as part of a program team in collaboration with a Senior Project Manager and/or Program Manager.
- Responsible for achieving project objectives and completion on time, on budget, and in conformance to client IT methodologies and practices.
- Solicit technological input from senior technical resources and facilitate technology problem‑solving activities.
- Manage projects with budget responsibility up to USD 1 million and, when required, oversee staff from other IT departments and contractor/vendor resources.
- Present project requests to institutional committees and oversight bodies to receive approval and direction.
- Support strategic planning processes for senior level project/program managers.
- Make judgments and take prudent actions to accomplish agreed project objectives under minimal direct supervision. Advise other IT staff on project management practices, methods, and standards.
- Demonstrate the Project Focused Culture within the Information Technology department and manage multiple competing objectives.
- Adhere strictly to budget management guidelines of the Information Technology department and the institution.
- Perform additional job‑related functions as directed by the immediate supervisor.
- Suppliers should confirm candidates can perform the following:
- Conduct requirements gathering, documentation, and validation across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Manage project coordination tasks under the direction of a Senior PM including meeting facilitation, RAID tracking, and documentation updates.
- Support data conversion planning, mapping, validation, and documentation.
- Support change management activities including SOP updates, training materials, communications, and readiness activities.
- Assist with billing related data work, test preparation, and system verification.
- Work with IT, lab operations, and clinical leaders to align requirements and ensure consistent documentation.
- Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Web Browsers
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 7 years’ experience managing projects of simple and moderate complexity in Information Technology and/or Healthcare disciplines, including experience leading projects using PMI Process Groups and Knowledge Areas OR Master’s Degree and a minimum of 4 years’ experience managing projects of simple to moderate complexity with the same PMI experience.
- Exceptional communication skills (written + verbal)
- Must produce clear requirements, project artifacts, summaries, and traceability.
- Experience working between IT and laboratory/blood bank domains.
- Familiarity with clinical/lab workflows or the interaction between lab operations and IT.
- Experience with large‑scale system implementations; preferably multi‑site, regulated, or clinical system rollouts.
- MAK SYSTEM experience.
- Strong Business Analyst background and requirements solicitation, documentation, process mapping, traceability.
- Strong Project Management background with RAID tracking, status reporting, meeting facilitation, and implementation support.
- Experience in healthcare, clinical, LIS, LIMS, lab operations, blood bank, or transfusion medicine environments.
- Experience supporting data conversion, mapping, validation, and reconciliation.
- Ability to maintain large volumes of project and requirements documentation.
- MAK SYSTEM experience (This is the #1 preference)
- Epic / Beaker experience
- Blood bank or transfusion medicine experience
- Experience with multi‑site implementations
- Previous client experience is a plus, but not required.
