Physical Therapist

This is a 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week) pediatric physical therapist position at Gillette Children’s. The primary site is 9550 Upland Lane North, Maple Grove, MN 55369, and the candidate may be required to travel occasionally to other Gillette sites. The position requires practice in various settings, including outpatient, telehealth, and occasional holiday weekend rotation on the inpatient unit.

Schedule: 4 – 10 hour shifts per week.

Provides direct and indirect family‑centered therapy services for patients to increase functional abilities, independence, and community integration. Contributes to department, program, and service teams to assure achievement of desired outcomes.

The hourly wage is $36.45–$54.64 (median $45.54) and depends on experience, education, certification, and licensure. Additional benefits include a retirement savings match, tuition and certification reimbursement, paid time off, health and wellness benefits for 0.5 FTE and above, and a weekend/evening/night differential of $2.75.

• Completes evaluation utilizing principles of family‑centered care.
• Implements a therapy care plan utilizing principles of family‑centered care.
• Completes necessary administrative and procedural tasks in a timely manner.
• Completes training in essential job competencies.

Required:

• Physical Therapy State License
• Pending credentials:
  Registration and licensure pending, not to exceed three months in this status
• Current certification in CPR (BLS for Healthcare Providers through American Heart Association) or must obtain certification within 90 days of hire

Knowledge &

Skills:

• Knowledge of transition from pediatric to adult health and rehabilitation care and rehabilitation practice for adults with childhood‑onset disabilities.
• Pediatric experience strongly preferred in Burnsville, Minnetonka, Maple Grove, and St. Paul; desirable at Phalen Adult Clinic.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Ability to function as an effective team member.
• Competency in physical therapy evaluation, treatment, family/community education, and planning for transition to community services.

Preferred:

• Pediatric experience strongly preferred.
• Experience working with adults with childhood‑onset disabilities.
