Overview

Boston Scientific is hiring a Health Economics and Market Access (HEMA) Analyst III in the Interventional Oncology & Embolization (IO&E) division. The role focuses on building programs to inform oncology healthcare policy, articulate the value of medical technology, and engage with providers, healthcare systems, and payers. You will work in a highly visible, cross‑functional environment and support the development of health policy and reimbursement initiatives.

Model and Sponsorship

This hybrid position requires presence at the Arbor Lakes office in Maple Grove, MN at least three days per week. Boston Scientific will not sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this role.

Responsibilities
  • Primary owner and driver of IO&E HEMA analytics and resources to address reimbursement, coding, and documentation inquiries from the sales force and key external stakeholders.
  • Utilize available data assets (e.g., Medicare claims data, CMS payment information) to identify research opportunities and define/execute analyses supporting business objectives.
  • Monitor and assess health policy updates impacting emerging technologies and commercial products; develop communications to inform senior management.
  • Recommend, select, maintain, and update health economic and reimbursement resources, including coding guides and reimbursement calculators.
  • Develop and promote analytical best practices within and across product franchises; research and apply new techniques for advanced analyses.
  • Provide input into reimbursement strategies for new product launches and portfolio planning.
  • Provide in‑service training to sales, marketing, clinical, regulatory, and legal teams on health economics and reimbursement competencies.
  • Collaborate with functional colleagues to inform strategic activities related to health economic research, health policy, and business development.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, health economics, epidemiology, biostatistics, health care administration, or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in health care, preferably with oncology medical technologies in the medical device arena.
  • Mastery of platform tools and software such as IQVIA, flat files, Medicare data files, XLS, Tableau, Power

    BI, Domo, Snowflake, AWS, and strong SQL proficiency.
  • Ability to translate complex reimbursement and economic data into compelling narratives and integrated data visualizations.
  • Knowledge of the U.S. healthcare system, health policy trends, payment systems, and CMS rule making.
  • Ability to advance initiatives independently and in a fast‑paced matrix environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation communication skills and proficiency in queries, report writing, and presentation of findings.
  • Alignment with BSC Values and IO&E DNA.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with oncology products.
  • Coding certifications (e.g., Certified Professional Coder).
  • Experience working within functional and cross‑functional teams.
Salary

Minimum: $82,600 | Maximum: $156,900

Compensation will vary based on location and other factors. Salary reflects experience, education, licensure, and certifications. Variable compensation may be available for exempt or non‑exempt roles.
