Mechanical Engineer II
Job DescriptionThis position focuses on designing and manufacturing automated equipment for a variety of industries and general consumer products. The role involves creating mechanical designs that meet the technical, project cost, and schedule criteria of various projects. The Mechanical Engineer II will lead projects through the design phase and act as the primary technical contact internally and externally throughout manufacturing, assembly, debugging, final acceptance, and service.
Responsibilities- Develop concepts and design mechanical systems according to standards.
- Ensure projects are delivered within budget.
- Lead design teams effectively.
- Provide technical expertise and support.
- Implement product standards consistently.
- Proficiency in Mechanical Design and Solid Works.
- Experience in Machine Design.
- Project leadership skills in automation and packaging.
- 5+ years of experience with Solid Works.
- 5+ years of experience in machine design or automated equipment.
- 5+ years of experience leading project teams or project management.
- 5+ years of experience with mechanisms, pneumatics, control devices, and manufacturing practices.
Skills & Qualifications
- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred, or AS Degree with 10+ years of experience.
- Experience with the packaging industry is advantageous.
- Motion control experience is a plus.
This role involves working in a dynamic and fast‑paced environment with high-volume and short-duration projects, typically ranging from 6 to 10 weeks. The work setting includes both office and cubicle environments, with occasional floor visits required for machine troubleshooting. The position reports to a Principal Engineer and includes managing a team of 3-5 reports. The team fosters a close‑knit and relaxed atmosphere, offering good benefits and typically half days on Fridays.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 – $55.00/hr.
