Role:
Polymer Lab Test Technician (Materail Testing) Duration: 12 Months (Possible extension or conversion to hire)
Location:
Maple Grove, MN 55311 – Onsite Job Purpose
Provide non‑routine polymer analytical testing support within the Materials Testing, Analysis, and Characterization (MTAC) Laboratory, focusing on polymer mechanical and rheological testing. Collaborate closely with R&D engineers and scientists to deliver high‑quality data for product development, material characterization, and regulatory submissions.
Key Responsibilities- Execute polymer testing on products, raw materials, and in‑process samples using mechanical and rheological methods (e.g., dynamical mechanical analysis, tensile testing, rotational rheometry).
- Apply knowledge of polymer sample preparation and a variety of analytical methods to support material testing and analysis.
- Perform routine data analysis and review data, documentation, and reports from other analysts in similar test areas.
- Train and execute testing in additional laboratory areas as needed.
- Maintain rigorous documentation practices to support regulatory submission efforts.
- Consult with internal customers and effectively communicate data and results.
- Attend team meetings and provide updates on testing progress through written and verbal communication.
- Perform periodic maintenance and troubleshooting on laboratory instrumentation, coordinating with vendors as needed.
- Support implementation of new technologies and provide leadership in laboratory techniques.
- Demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by adhering to the Quality Policy and all documented quality processes and procedures.
- Associate degree in Polymer Science, Engineering, or Chemistry (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Hands‑on experience with polymer mechanical and/or rheological testing techniques.
- Experience with TA Instruments, specifically RSA‑G2 Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer and/or ARES‑G2 Rheometer.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work independently or as part of a team.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
