About the role:
Boston Scientific is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Principal Process Engineer to join our fast‑growing IVL team. In this role, you'll use your technical skills and passion for innovation to lead the commercialization of new products and improvements. You'll work hands‑on to solve complex problems in a fast‑paced, global environment, focusing on developing processes from concept to production. This position involves cross‑functional collaboration to design and commercialize advanced technology, supporting process development across Boston Scientific’s global plant network and within the OnePD model.
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a fully‑onsite work model requiring employees to be in our local office five (5) days per week.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Assess process capabilities, prioritize process improvement opportunities, and innovate and implement process improvements on complex projects
- Apply technical knowledge to innovate, design, and develop processes, procedures, tooling, and/or automation
- Develop and build technology roadmap for IVL
- Execute the functional deliverables associated with the PDP/TDP, Project Management, and Quality Systems
- Write clean and concise work instructions that can be understood by product builders
- Serve as a key resource or expert, participating in setting technical direction for the function and/or organization
- Own/contribute to technical reports, validations, and qualifications by capturing experimental results
- Ensure visibility and closure of process issues (e.g., yields, cost, capability, etc.) per PDP milestones
- Evaluate external technologies and strategically identify opportunities to implement them internally
- Provide on‑going mentoring and technical guidance to managers, other engineers, technicians, and functional group
- Complete proper documentation to meet quality systems requirements (e.g., BOM's, Routers, FMEA's, etc.)
- Write and review validation protocols and reports applicable to new processes
- Serve as a key contributor and participant in technical reviews, preparing and presenting technical data and recommendations at technical and business reviews
- Oversee development builds associated with the project using special work requests
- Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input to the engineering print package
- Partner cross‑functionally to develop design specifications, test methods, and material selection
- Contribute ideas to or generate Intellectual Property submissions
- Train and/or provide work direction to technicians and engineers and may train manufacturing personnel when required as part of prototype line development and validation
- Serve as a core team member or technical expert (subject matter expert) on new product development projects
- May serve as a representative or liaison to other Boston Scientific sites or external organizations, boards, or committees
Required qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of professional engineering experience relevant to this role
- Hands‑on mechanical aptitude
- Demonstrated cross functional teamwork in technically demanding environment
- Strong conflict resolution and problem‑solving skills
- Prior experience as a technical lead on team projects
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience building a technology roadmap and developing new technologies to scale growth of key products
- Must be able to provide own, reliable transportation to commute effectively between Maple Grove sites (Weaver Lake and Arbor Lakes facilities)
