Position: ESP - Kidstop PM FLOAT Position (Positions vary from 2.0-2.5 hours/day; 4 days/week )

Responsibilities:
  • Follow all District, program, and building health and safety procedures.
  • Communicate accidents/incidents concerning youth/staff verbally and in writing to Program Leaders and/or families as needed.
  • Actively supervise all youth in the program at all times.
  • Accurately count and track students throughout transitions, activities, spaces, and field trips to ensure all children are accounted for at all times.
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of youth and families.
  • Support field trips and adjust hours and/or locations as needed.
  • Collaborate with Program Leaders and staff to ensure the well-being of youth.
  • Follow up with families regarding concerns or feedback and complete necessary documentation.
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting families and ensuring youth are signed in/out of the program.
  • Welcome and value diversity in thought, culture, and perspective, fostering an inclusive environment free of judgment.
  • Perform additional site duties as assigned.
  • Assist with medical, physical, or behavioral needs as necessary.
  • Operate adaptive equipment (e.g., wheelchairs, communication devices) and ensure proper use.
  • Assist youth with self-care tasks (feeding, dressing, toileting). Lifting, moving, and transitioning may be necessary.
  • Support individuals with additional accommodations as needed.
  • Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, perform basic medical procedures such as tube feedings and seizure precautions.
  • Create and maintain a safe, welcoming environment for all families, youth, and staff, respecting diversity.
  • Facilitate and organize enriching activities across various areas such as health, science, social skills, literacy, music, art, service learning, and games.
  • Lead small and large group activities.
  • Engage actively with youth, role modeling positive behavior and leadership.
  • Uphold the mission, philosophy, policies, and procedures of the District and Kidstop program.
  • Complete required background checks and pre-employment paperwork before starting.
  • Attend staff meetings, trainings, and program events.
  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Experience with children and knowledge of child development are preferred.
  • Skills needed: organization, flexibility, confidence, patience, teamwork, communication.
  • Additional Information:

    Salary: $19.43 to $24.66/hour, based on experience. Refer to the Educational Support Professional contract for details.

    Job Type: Part-time or casual, depending on hours, during the school year.

    About Us:

    Kidstop is a high-quality, choice-based child care program serving Kindergarten through 5th-grade students across multiple elementary schools. We support over 1,200 students with engaging and supportive experiences aligned with our district’s mission to inspire and prepare scholars for success and lifelong learning.

    Locations:

    Basswood, Cedar Island, Edinbrook, Elm Creek, Fernbrook, Oak View, Rice Lake, Rush Creek, Weaver Lake, and Woodland Elementary Schools. Location varies daily based on staffing and program needs. Final placement is communicated via text each day.

    Hours/

    Schedule:

    Schedules vary with a minimum of 4 days per week, between 2 to 2.5 hours daily. Specific hours are sent via text. The program is also open on most non-school days with hours between 6:30 AM and 6:00 PM, depending on needs.
