Job Summary
To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning by providing specialized clerical and technical duties related to the assignment or placement, as well as related responsibilities requiring creative solutions to specialized site/department needs. Answer correspondence and assemble highly confidential and sensitive information.
Interact with a diverse group of external customers as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, organize and carry out a diversified workload, and make recommendations for changes in office practices or procedures. The Administrative Professional is the first individual at Park Brook to welcome guests and families into the building;
a welcoming office is the norm at Park Brook.
- Provide secretarial/clerical support to the principal and school staff in the form of typing, filing, duplication of materials, answering phones.
- Greet visitors and answer questions/concerns for the school to include functioning as a liaison between the principal, teachers, other management staff, students, parents and the general public; provide community resource information.
- Maintain student records, all information required on cumulative files; enroll and withdraw students; record attendance; request records for new students.
- Organize and prepare scheduling materials for distribution for parent/teacher conferences.
- Design occasional flyers advertising special school events.
- Maintain a high level of organization of general files for easy, accessible access.
- Direct substitute teachers to appropriate classrooms, provide class schedule, collect end-of-day reports.
- Maintain record of staff absences including processing of required personnel forms.
- Respond to health concerns during health specialist's absence on a daily basis.
- Assist with scheduling conferences.
- Provide support for the Focus on Fitness Initiative.
- Assist with materials for Open House, Conferences, Kindergarten Orientation, and so on.
- Willingness to support the school as needed, which is the norm at Park Brook.
- Provide weekly communication to the staff via the weekly bulletin; the principal and others contribute.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Extensive secretarial/clerical and computer skills including Publisher, Mail Merge, Word, Access.
- Extensive skills in developing and maintaining record system.
- Knowledge of district policies as they affect the general operation of the building.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of the materials and information disseminated daily.
- Human relation strengths including helping, serving, and exchanging information.
- Strong communication skills; oral and written.
Class 4-A, $27.36 to $29.81 hourly (for 2025-26 school year).
Work ScheduleMonday through Friday, 8 hours/day; 5 days/week; 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Throughout the year there are activities such as Open House, Kindergarten Orientation, and six conference nights. These evening school events are paid by adjusting, or using comp time, for these requirements. Team Leaders has also been a part of the role, and is also paid for by adjusting time when it works for the employee.
