Senior Accountant

POSITION TITLE:

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT JOB CLASSIFICATION: SALARY-EXEMPT

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Financial Reporting & Analysis
  :
  Prepare income statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports; assist with variance analysis and forecasting.
• Compliance & Audits
  :
  Assist with accounting and grant audits; prepare documentation for external auditors; ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant laws.
• General Accounting Operations
  :
  Manage general ledger and provide support for accounts receivable, accounts payable and tax filings.
• Grant Accounting and Reporting
  :
  Prepare and submit timely, accurate financial reports, invoices, and reimbursement requests to funders as required by grant terms.
• Budgeting & Planning
  :
  Participate in budget development, monitor cash flow, and assist with financial planning.
• Internal Controls
  :
  Assist with implementation and maintenance of financial controls to safeguard assets and mitigate risks.
• Team Leadership
  :
  Provide support to accounting staff as needed, including guidance on entries and procedures.
• Process Improvement
  :
  Perform and further develop reconciliations. Identify and implement continuous process improvement initiatives.

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP, and financial regulations
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Sage) and Excel
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills

• Education
  :
  Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; FQHC or grant experience and CPA certification preferred.
• Experience
  :
  Minimum 5-7 years of advanced accounting experience, preferably in a supervisory role.
