Job Description
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of product quality and safety. This includes conducting pre-operation inspections, x‑ray testing, metal detector testing, quality checks, and maintaining quality documentation. The role involves performing dimension and integrity checks on packaging, matching ingredient codes on labels, seal checks, specification checks, and monitoring for foreign materials. The technician is also responsible for holding lines if necessary to ensure quality standards are met.
Responsibilities- Conduct pre‑operation inspections to ensure readiness for production.
- Perform x‑ray and metal detector testing to detect any inconsistencies.
- Carry out quality checks and maintain accurate quality documentation.
- Perform dimension and integrity checks on packaging.
- Match codes on ingredient labels and ensure they are accurate.
- Conduct seal checks to verify product integrity.
- Check specifications such as best‑by dates to ensure compliance.
- Monitor for foreign materials and take corrective actions as needed.
- Hold production lines if quality standards are not met.
- Bachelor of Science in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related.
- Ability to work independently.
- 1 year of laboratory experience from academia.
This is a contract position based out of Manteno, IL.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 – $24.00/hr.
