Driving Position
:
Employee must have a valid driver's license and a clean DMV record.
Works under the Program Manager and Assistant Program Manager to provide community-based instruction and personal care to persons with disabilities.
DutiesOur Program Without Walls is seeking a Full Time Integration Assistant to work up to 35 hours per week.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing community-based group (1:3) daily instruction based on individual consumer ISPs.
- Recording daily data regarding consumer progress.
- Attending regularly scheduled staff training and meetings.
- Maintaining equipment and communicating with Program Manager and Program Assistant.
- Ensuring consumer health and safety needs are met in the community.
- Assisting in application of behavioral modification as specified in consumer ISPs.
- Providing input to supervisor(s) regarding the development of individualized program objectives.
- Providing toileting, dressing, feeding, and mobility assistance to participants when necessary.
- Providing lifting and positioning of participants as instructed.
- Promoting and maintaining a congenial, supportive work environment.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent and be 21 years of age or older.
- Meet California Community Care Licensing personnel standards.
- Prefer 1 year prior experience in instructing and/or direct intervention with persons with developmental disabilities, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR certification.
- Have knowledge of developmental and physical disabilities, behavior and medical problems that can accompany the primary and/or secondary disability.
- Must be in good health with the ability to lift 50 pounds regularly, and knowledge of correct lifting, positioning, and transferring techniques.
- Medical knowledge concerning seizure activity and cerebral palsy is helpful.
- Must be able to remain calm in situations of high stress and understand and follow verbal and written instructions prescribed by superiors.
- If hired to drive, must have a good driving record and maintain insurance.
Salary: $17.25 - $18 per hour
