Quality Assurance

The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Quality Assurance (QA) professional to join a well-established fresh produce business specialising in the washing and packing of root vegetables. This is a hands-on QA position where you will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of product quality, food safety, and compliance across the washing and packing process. Working closely with the Technical Manager and production teams, you will help maintain product integrity while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for monitoring washing and packing operations to ensure produce consistently meets the required quality standards. The role will involve carrying out regular inspections of carrots and parsnips to check for defects, contamination, and compliance with specifications. You will maintain accurate documentation of inspections and quality checks, including reviewing machine reports and temperature records. Ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, internal policies, and industry standards will be a key part of the role.

The position will also involve collecting microbiological samples, carrying out shelf-life assessments, and supporting traceability exercises to ensure products can be tracked throughout the production process.

The Candidate

We are looking for someone with excellent attention to detail and strong observational skills who enjoys working within a fast-paced production environment. You will need good communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Experience with in food manufacturing or fresh produce in a QA or technical role would be highly beneficial.
