This role also includes providing cover for the Head of Manufacturing when required, supporting wider operational planning and decision-making. A background in manufacturing—preferably fabrication or welding—along with experience using CRM/ERP systems such as Sage, is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities

• Conducting pre-start safety checks, reporting near misses, and ensuring H&S compliance
• Ensuring production runs to plan and accurately recording key performance data
• Troubleshooting machinery, materials, and workflow issues to maintain efficient operations
• Supporting maintenance and repair activities for plant equipment
• Acting as Fire Officer and training operatives on safety and fire procedures
• Assisting the Head of Manufacturing and Operations team with daily planning and absence monitoring
• Carrying out time studies to support productivity and process improvements
• Estimating lead times and waiting times for orders to aid accurate scheduling
• Managing and maintaining policy and procedural compliance across the department
• Providing cover for the Head of Manufacturing during periods of absence
• Ensuring clear communication between senior management and production teams
What We’re Looking For
• Previous experience in a production or manufacturing supervisory role
• Strong manufacturing background; experience in fabrication or welding preferred
