Mechanical Design Engineer

Overview

Express Recruitment are excited to be representing a special-purpose material handling systems manufacturer based in Nottingham who are looking to hire a Mechanical Design Engineer on a full time, permanent basis to join their talented team.

Please note, there will be occasional visits to UK customer sites to carry out design surveys and measurements. Therefore, a full UK driving license is required.

In return, they are offering a competitive salary of up to c £45,000 per annum. Other benefits include 29 days holiday including bank holidays with the opportunity to accrue additional days with length of service. Overtime is also available on a regular basis.

Hours:

Full Time, Monday – Friday, 39 Hours Per Week (7:30am – 4pm & 7:30am – 3pm on Friday).

Location:

Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. Job Type: Full Time, Fully Office Based, Permanent.

• Produce general arrangement and final draft drawings using Autodesk Inventor/2D & 3D AutoCAD packages
• Creating designs across the company’s wide portfolio of products, including conveyor systems and bespoke material handling systems
• Updating and maintaining Bill of Materials and project documentation
• Assisting technical sales team with development of quotation drawings and tenders
• Attend internal and external meetings (project and client related) including travelling to customer sites when required to provide technical support and design calculation expertise
• Design initial concepts including input into costing and timescales reviews
• Adhere to client specifications whilst complying with current safe working practises and company standards

• Degree/HND or similar qualification in Mechanical/Manufacturing or Product Design
• Demonstrable design experience with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
• Experience designing bespoke material handling systems such as conveyors and palletisers
• Experience carrying out design layouts estimations and surveys on customer sites
• Proactive and determined approach to problem solving
• Full, clean UK driving licence
