Electrical Engineer (site based)
Reporting to:
Engineering Section Manager
Salary: 37-40K

The Electrical/Utility/Site Services Engineer will play a key role in maintaining and improving site-wide electrical and utility systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. The role involves a blend of planned maintenance, reactive support, system monitoring, and technical problem-solving within a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities- Work with PLC control systems, including monitoring, basic programming adjustments, and troubleshooting.
- Maintain and optimise equipment across site.
- Conduct electrical fault finding and diagnostics to minimise downtime.
- Monitor, maintain, and control site utility systems such a fire sprinkler systems.
- Ensure all utilities operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with site standards.
- Carry out routine planned maintenance on electrical equipment.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and support rapid resolution.
- Produce basic maintenance reports and update records accurately.
- Maintain clear and accurate logs of maintenance activities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through reporting and analysis.
- Experience working within a production or manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of PLCs.
- Variable speed drives.
- Compressors.
- City & Guilds in Electrical Engineering.
- HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering.
- 18th Edition IEE Regulations.
- Basic PC literacy.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
- Flexible and adaptable.
- Strong team player.
- Reliable and self-motivated.
- Practical, hands-on approach.
- Standard hours Monday - Friday (rota for call out).
