The Children and Families Department takes a strengths‑based approach to working with children, young people and families – our "Nottinghamshire Approach". This apprenticeship will give you the National Qualification Certificate (JNC) as a Youth Worker Level 6 and a guaranteed permanent position upon successful completion.

• Deliver creative and innovative youth work
• Build positive relationships with young people
• Develop links with the local community
• Manage part‑time staff
• Deliver four evening/week sessions plus daytime and after‑school targeted youth work on issue‑based topics relevant to young people’s needs and the participation team’s work
• Work closely with colleagues in the district and wider service
• Travel countywide to attend events and projects – require full driving licence and access to a vehicle (disabled employees may use taxis)

• Minimum qualification:
  
  Level 3 JNC in Youth Work
• Residency: UK Nationals or right‑of‑abode with at least 3 years ordinary residence;
  Non‑UK nationals with 3 years residence and a valid visa covering the apprenticeship period
• Mathematics and English:
  Grade 4 or equivalent (or ability to complete Level 2 functional skills)
