The Children and Families Department takes a strengths‑based approach to working with children, young people and families – our "Nottinghamshire Approach". This apprenticeship will give you the National Qualification Certificate (JNC) as a Youth Worker Level 6 and a guaranteed permanent position upon successful completion.
Responsibilities- Deliver creative and innovative youth work
- Build positive relationships with young people
- Develop links with the local community
- Manage part‑time staff
- Deliver four evening/week sessions plus daytime and after‑school targeted youth work on issue‑based topics relevant to young people’s needs and the participation team’s work
- Work closely with colleagues in the district and wider service
- Travel countywide to attend events and projects – require full driving licence and access to a vehicle (disabled employees may use taxis)
- Minimum qualification:
Level 3 JNC in Youth Work - Residency: UK Nationals or right‑of‑abode with at least 3 years ordinary residence;
Non‑UK nationals with 3 years residence and a valid visa covering the apprenticeship period - Mathematics and English:
Grade 4 or equivalent (or ability to complete Level 2 functional skills)
