Shift: 1st shift, schedule 7a - 3:30p, Monday - Friday
Pay: $25-28/hour depending on experience
We are seeking a highly skilled Manual Machinist to join our metal fabrication shop. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience operating manual mills (including Bridge ports) and manual lathes, with a strong ability to read blueprints, use precision measuring tools, and machine parts to tight tolerances. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who takes pride in accuracy, quality, and craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual milling machines, including Bridgeport-style mills
- Set up and operate manual lathes with a high level of proficiency
- Read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings and blueprints
- Accurately measure parts using calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, and other precision measuring tools
- Machine parts to specified tolerances and quality standards
- Perform basic layout work and material preparation
- Inspect finished parts for accuracy and conformance to specifications
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Perform routine machine maintenance and identify tooling or machine issues
- Work closely with shop supervisors and other fabricators to meet production deadlines
- Proven experience as a Manual Machinist in a metal fabrication or machine shop environment
- Extensive experience with manual lathes (required)
- Strong experience with manual mills and Bridgeport machines
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Proficient in using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools
- Strong understanding of machining practices, feeds, speeds, and tolerances
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- 1+ years of manual machining experience
- Experience working with a variety of metals (steel, aluminum, stainless, etc.)
