Blender - 3rd Shift

Position Summary

Blend PTFE per extrusion

• Stage raw materials for blending operation on FIFO basis
• Blend PTFE and Isopar to the specified instructions
• Pour PTFE blends through screen into jugs, then weigh jugs
• Enter all blends into WW3, place tags on jugs and brush off excess blend
• Transfer jugs to the hot room and stage for extrusion
• Transfer empty jugs to be cleaned
• Wash jugs on a rotating basis
• Change Isopar filters when needed
• Unload PTFE from truck to cold room
• Maintain work area in clean and orderly fashion, follow 5S practices
• Know and practice all safety regulations and quality guidelines
• Report production issues to Direct Lead
• Perform work of an equal or lower classification
• Perform related and other duties assigned by the Value Stream Team Lead

• Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment. Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately.
• Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner.
• Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5‑S.
• Other duties may be assigned at a later time.

Education required:

High School diploma or GED

Experience:

Production work preferred but not required.

On the job training from 1 to 8 weeks or extend to 10 weeks if needed.

• Report directly to Value Stream Team Leader
• Work closely with Maintenance to resolve issues with the equipment

The employee may be subject to:

• High noise levels from operating machines and equipment.
• Physical hazards from operating machines and moving reels.
• Extreme temperature (Cold Room).
• Work in areas where safety equipment will be required (steel‑toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection).
• Standing is required for extended periods of time and walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, turning, twisting, squatting, and lifting are performed on a regular basis.
• Requires a high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions.
• Requires flexible hours and short notice for overtime.
