Position: Lead-Custom Fab Weld Shop (1st shift)
NSC Staffing has an immediate openings for Lead-Custom Weld Shop in Mansfield, Tx.

Shift: 1st shift, schedule 7a - 3:30p, Monday - Friday
Pay: $22-24/hour depending on experience

We are seeking dependable and skilled Lead for our custom fabrication shop to serve as the frontline supervisor and technical expert, overseeing daily operations, coordinating workflow, and ensuring high-quality fabrication and welding output. This role bridges the gap between shop floor personnel and management, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within specifications, and in compliance with safety and quality standards.

The Lead must possess strong leadership, fabrication expertise, and problem-solving skills to guide a team of welders and fabricators in a dynamic, custom manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities include following

• Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication plans
• Assign tasks and monitor progress to ensure timely completion of custom jobs
• Perform complex welding and fabrication tasks when needed
• Ensure all welds meet quality standards and specifications

Duties

• Supervise and mentor welders, fabricators
• Provide hands on training and guidance in welding techniques and shop procedures
• Schedule jobs and allocate resources based on project priorities
• Coordinate with engineering, project managers, and quality control teams
• Track job progress and report updates to supervisors
• Inspect finished products for accuracy, quality, and compliance
• Enforce shop safety protocols for OSHA regulations
• Maintain job logs, material usage records, and time tracking

Qualifications and skills

• Experience in metal fabrication
• Proficient in MIG, TIG and Stick welding
• Strong understanding of fabrication equipment
• Leadership experience in a shop environment
