The Scribe will assist the provider with the completion of his/her dictations to improve the efficiency and quality of each patient visit and the overall clinic flow.
- Assists the provider in navigating Electronic Health Record system.
- Enters information into EHR as directed by the provider.
- Researches information as requested by the provider.
- Responds to various messages as requested by the provider.
- Assists the physicians/physician assistant with documenting patient care in the electronic medical record and ensuring that all services ordered are coded in the electronic medical record.
- Participates in office meetings and educational activities.
- Maintains work area in neat and orderly manner.
- Complies with HIPAA procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma, GED, or certificate from college or technical school.
- 3 to 6 months related experience.
- Certificate from medical assistant program preferred.
- Ability to type 45 WPM and basic proficiency in Microsoft Outlook/Office.
