Provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse, acute health care settings. The department operates 24/7/365. The RN is accountable for the practice of nursing as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing and delegates nursing tasks to LPNs and UAPs per the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. According to department policies and nursing care standards, the RN provides professional nursing care services to patients and is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for assigned patients.
ResponsibilitiesAnd Duties
- Assessment/Diagnosis – Performs initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessment as applicable (30%).
- Outcomes Identification/Planning – Documents planned nursing interventions based on diagnoses to achieve outcomes (30%).
- Implementation/Evaluation – Evaluates response to interventions and revises the plan of care based on data (20%).
- Leadership – Participates in process improvement activities to achieve clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance targets (10%).
- Operations – Supports operational functions (10%).
- High Reliability Organization focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Associate’s Degree (Required)
- BLS certification – Basic Life Support, American Heart Association
- Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio (or in good standing with a multi‑state compact)
- BSN required after 5 years of employment
