North Central Fabrication
- Welder/Fabricator

Summary:

Fabricators cut, shape, join and finish metal to make, maintain or repair metal products and structures. Fabricators may produce patterns/fixtures for fabrication, apply coatings, and work with a variety of materials.

Primary

Job Responsibilities:

* Examines detailed drawings or specifications to find out job, material and equipment requirements

* Cuts, rolls, shapes, bends, molds, spins, heats, or hammers metal products to fabricate parts or sub-assemblies

* Sets up and/or operates hand and machine tools, torches, and welding equipment

* Assembles parts and structures by lining up and joining them by welding or bolting

* Performs routine inspections on assigned equipment and notifies supervisor of defects or needed repairs

* Adheres to the company's safety policies to create a safe work environment

* Possibility to learn to run computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines

* Other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications/

Skills:

* Sufficient education or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training that provides the desired knowledge, skills and characteristics to perform duties of the role

* Physically capable of handling heavy materials, tools and machines

* Must obtain the necessary training and certification prior to operating any equipment

* Must maintain a valid driver's license or transportation to and from work

* Good hand-eye coordination

* Ability to work in a team environment

* Ability to work independently with little direction when applicable

* Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency

* Must have a good work ethic, and the ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions

* Ability to use equipment and tools in a safe and efficient manner

* Ability to read drawings

* Ability to accurately read a tape measure

* Ability to pass a weld test

* Experience prepping and applying a shop coat of prime paint a plus

* Possible shift flexibility as work dictates
