Job Summary and Qualifications
The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with department-specific requirements and state and specialty standards of practice. The RN collaborates with medical providers and the care team, advocates for patients and families, and models a commitment to the organization’s vision and mission.
Responsibilities- Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after intervention.
- Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s) and documents care administration in a timely, thorough manner.
- Responds promptly to patient requests and proactively resolves needs.
- Teaches patients/families/caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures, translating complex terminology.
- Provides education on non-medicinal follow-up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes, preparing families for self-management.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Emergency Nurse Pediatric Critical (PN) obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
- NIH Stroke Scale obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree.
