The Department of Neurology (Clinic Director Prof. Dr. Platten) is seeking a full-time, initially fixed-term (two years) position for research into the immune-vascular interface of malignant brain tumors within a project of the DFG-funded Collaborative Research Center (CRC) 1366 “Vascular Control of Organ Function”
The focus of this translational project is to decipher the active role of the vascular endothelium for the efficacy of brain tumor immunotherapy. The scientist will work closely with colleagues from the European Center for Angioscience and the German Cancer Research Center.
Responsibilities- Validation of candidate factors within the brain vasculature using genetically-modified experimental glioma models and in vitro assays
- Application of single-cell sequencing and spatial imaging of murine and human samples
- Support scientists within the CRC with expertise in brain tumor vascular biology and immunology
- Contribution to the training of young researchers within the School of Angioscience
- Supervision of students and technicians
- PhD with a focus on vascular biology or tumor immunology
- Vast experience and hands-on-expertise in studying the immune-vascular interface including in vivo models and single cell sequencing technologies
- Excellent track record of relevant publications
- Very good organizational skills, excellent English language skills
- High degree of motivation, enthusiasm and experience in teaching and supervision of students and technicians

- The position is divisible. Salary in accordance with the provisions of the Collective Agreement for the Public Service of the Federal States (TV- L)
