Mechanic​/Vehicle Technician

Join our team! Now offering a $10,000 sign-on bonus for full-time Mechanic/Vehicle Technicians! Spee Dee Delivery is a family owned and operated company started in 1978 by Donald and Sylvia Weeres. Our core business is standard, next-day, ground delivery. The corporate headquarters and main sort facility is located in St. Cloud, MN. We currently employ over 1,800 employees company-wide and have expanded throughout the Midwest.

The Mechanic/Vehicle Technician will diagnose and repair gasoline engines and other powertrain components, hydraulic brakes, steering and suspension systems, electrical systems, and diesel emission systems.

• Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM start
• $20.00-$33.00 per hour, based on experience
• Occasional Saturdays, as needed for full-time
• Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week

• Ability to use scan tool and laptop technology
• Follow reasonable instructions from shift leader
• Ability to work independently and/or with team
• Perform routine truck inspections and maintenance of fleet equipment
• Help maintain an effective and clean work environment
• Must have own tools or ability to obtain own tools to complete all job functions
• Perform other related duties as assigned

• Welding and torch experience is a plus but not required
• Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle or be willing to learn

• At least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 2 years technical instruction in diesel or auto mechanics is preferred

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
• Must be able to spend a minimum of eight hours on feet
• Work environment involves bending, kneeling, crouching, walking, and driving
• Work environment may involve hazards such as diesel exhaust, brake dust, grease, antifreeze, and other elements associated with vehicle repair
