Maintenance Planner/Scheduler at Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG

Key Accountabilities
  • Evaluation and conversion of corrective maintenance notifications to work orders for assignment/collection of parts, tools and time required for repair.
  • Develops, implements, coordinates, and maintains Preventative Maintenance (PM) improvements, schedules and projects on a daily or scheduled basis.
  • Development of Pre-Task Analysis for major repairs and projects.
  • Collaborate with Operational Management team to plan activities for scheduled shutdowns.
  • Attend daily update meetings with Maintenance Coordinators to revise/finalize the next days or weeks work schedule.
  • Interface with MRO Crib and external vendors ensuring proper inventory or parts, spares, and tools for one-time and planned repairs.
  • Interface with various layers of Leadership, highlighting status of PM/Work Order system and current priority of repairs.
  • Maintains SAP BOM and Function location information for the equipment.
  • Upon receiving spare parts, removes from packing and verifies that parts are correct before kitting and scheduling job.
  • Develops job plans that include maintenance resources, materials, tools and equipment, methods, and coordination with contracted resources and other departments.
  • Troubleshoots, diagnoses symptoms and effects repairs of manufacturing and facility equipment.
  • Performs highly diversified planning to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment.
  • Enters and maintains Computer Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) data, validates CMMS data entered by maintenance technicians, process maintenance work requests from plant personnel, and ensures the effective and efficient utilization of CMMS.
  • Uses CMMS to research parts, prepares repair orders, resource plan, and manages the preventive and predictive maintenance scheduling of equipment.
  • Works with maintenance technicians to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives and ensure availability of tools and materials.
  • Responsible for working knowledge of plant facilities and equipment.
  • Creates purchase requisitions, stock requisitions and other instruments as needed to ensure efficient execution of job plans.
  • Informs appropriate management and line mechanics of potential mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved.
  • Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas.
  • Interfaces with departmental lead personnel, supervision and other management to develop dynamic planning methods to allow efficient performance of all maintenance tasks within existing operating schedules and with minimal overtime.
  • Performs special projects as may be required and maintains on the job flexibility by providing support in maintenance and in other production related areas.
  • Promotes a compliance culture in area of responsibility and lives the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct.
Basic Requirements
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in maintenance planning and the use of a maintenance library to plan preventative and predictive maintenance of equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Good knowledge of SAP Maintenance Module CMMS, General knowledge of other SAP functions.
  • Advanced ability to interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, manuals, layouts, or other visual aids.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with other employees.
  • Intermediate knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and the ability to use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
  • Working knowledge of computers and general software: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook.
  • Highly organized and able to handle stressful situations.
  • Associate's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Maintenance.
  • Knowledge of heavy-duty diesel engine manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of MTU products, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to work any shift and overtime as required.
