Overview

Spiritual Counselor - Part Time .5 FTE (40 hrs bi-weekly). Weekdays 8:00 am – 4:30 pm; every other Thursday mandatory. We offer excellent benefits, competitive pay, PTO/Sick Time, 401K with 6% match, and a supportive team environment.

Ecumen Mankato is hiring a Spiritual Counselor to support hospice patients and Ecumen owned sites. Ecumen Mankato provides in-home and community-based services in the Minnesota Mankato area.

The Spiritual Counselor is responsible for developing, directing, and coordinating comprehensive programs of spiritual care. This position will assess, coordinate, develop, and direct the spiritual care program to meet the spiritual and religious needs of residents, patients, and team members. This role also supports family and caregiver bereavement activities.

  • The targeted pay range for this job is $29.00 – $33.00

Job Responsibilities
  • Meet with hospice patients, residents, and their families to assess spiritual care needs and introduce spiritual care services as part of admissions; support hospice patients and Ecumen owned sites.
  • Conduct comprehensive spiritual assessments and facilitate the development of individualized care plans to meet identified spiritual needs.
  • Provide compassion and sensitivity to the needs of others regardless of race, religion, or sexual orientation.
  • Provide and/or coordinate pastoral care and spiritual/religious services in accordance with residents  beliefs, including administration of sacraments and funeral/memorial services as requested.
  • Conduct and coordinate end-of-life rituals and funeral/memorial services, including dignity walks and bedside services.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community clergy; serve as liaison to the resident s community of faith.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Spiritual Counselor Minimum

    Required Qualifications
    • Graduate of an accredited seminary or school of theology (M. Div. or equivalent)
    • 3+ years of pastoral care or chaplain ministry experience
    • License or ordination by a recognized religious organization and/or Ecclesiastical Endorsement of healthcare ministry
    • Minimum of two units of Clinical Pastoral Education or the ability to complete within two years of hire
    • Demonstrates theological understanding and respect of all faith expressions, beliefs, and values
    • Commitment to personal self-care and spiritual development
    • Must be flexible and adaptable to changing situations, including ability to work irregular hours, attend meetings and special events
    • Current valid driver s license and proof of vehicle insurance
    • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats
    • Able to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident s Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to Know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations

    • Experience working with seniors
