The Life Enrichment Specialist / Activities Specialist is responsible for delivering Life Enrichment programming designed to meet and honor the physical, social, spiritual, sensory and psychological needs of all residents based on an assessment of their individual needs and interests. This position is responsible for advocating and promoting resident participation and choice.

Ecumen Pathstone consists of assisted living, long-term care, rehabilitation care, memory care, adult day services, and independent living. Ecumen also offers homecare and hospice- all within the Mankato, MN area. Schedule

Schedule: Tuesday through Friday 12:30pm - 4:30pm. Every other Saturday 8am - 4:30pm. 40 scheduled hours every 2 weeks.

Pay

Pay: The targeted pay range for this job is $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
. Ecumen considers a variety of factors when determining new hire pay including experience, qualifications, and, when applicable, certifications, licenses, and education.

Essential

Job Responsibilities
  • Meets with all residents upon admission and on an ongoing basis as assigned, to assess their life enrichment needs and interests.
  • Leads individual and group activities based on residents' assessed needs, encourages participation, and documents involvement according to each care plan.
  • Empowers residents to develop interpersonal relationships, socialize effectively and develop confidence to participate in individual and group activity programming.
  • Ensures residents arrive at scheduled activities, outings and appointments in a timely manner. Transporting residents as needed.
  • Maintains supplies in an orderly manner, notifies supervisor of supply needs in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates activity programming with awareness of other departments, providing advance notice for events requiring their support.
  • Maintains and posts daily and monthly calendars of events, outings and other recreational opportunities for residents.
  • Assists and supports all workers and positions in the building and identifies what needs to be done and assists as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum

    Required Qualifications
    • High school diploma or GED
    • 1 year related experience
    • Knowledge and understanding of the field of geriatrics and the interpersonal, spiritual and psycho-social needs of older adults.
    • Valid Drivers License, proof of insurance and satisfactory motor vehicle record
    • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
    • Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to:
      Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, Resident's Bill of Rights, OSHA, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, Right to know, HUD Policy and Procedures, ADA, Fair Housing laws and regulations and SDS
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree
    • Previous experience working with seniors
    • ADC, ACC or CTRS
