Mankato Christian Academy prayerfully seeks a gifted, Christian educator who is passionate about English language arts, revealing God’s truth, beauty, and wisdom through the power of language, literature, and storytelling while discipling high‑school students in a biblical worldview. You are someone who:
Loves teenagers and believes the Christian home, the local church, and the Christian school partner to shape the next generation of faithful servant‑leaders.
Is spiritually mature and able to mentor students and families from a variety of backgrounds with warmth, grace, and clarity.
Has a contagious enthusiasm for English and literature—delighting in the exploration of great works that reflect God’s gift of language, human creativity, moral truths, and the human condition—and can teach it with clarity, rigor, and joy to 9th–12th graders.
Excels at helping students develop strong reading comprehension, writing proficiency, critical thinking, and effective communication skills while connecting literary concepts, themes, and texts to a Christian worldview (e.g., truth, redemption, virtue, stewardship of words, and the power of story to point to God’s grand narrative).
Enjoys fostering a classroom culture where students grow not only in literary and linguistic proficiency but also in character, empathy, discernment, and wonder at God’s design for language and creativity.
Believes English studies equip students to glorify God through wise use of words, thoughtful engagement with ideas, and clear articulation of truth.
Models humility, teaching literature and language arts in faithful alignment with biblical truth, while equipping students to engage thoughtfully with diverse texts, worldviews, and contemporary ideas from a firm foundation in Scripture.
If you are passionate about English and literature and desire to disciple teenagers as they grow in faith, critical thinking, analytical skills, and eloquent expression, we want to talk with you.
