Mankato Area Public Schools

Mankato Area Public Schools has a part-time position available for a Central Registration Specialist for 10-months a year (August-May), 6 hours per day (9:30-4:00) 5 days per week beginning as soon as possible.

Job Summary:
The Central Registration Specialist manages district-wide student records processes to ensure compliance with FERPA, MARSS, and applicable state and federal regulations. This position independently reviews and authorizes the release of student information, monitors data integrity within student information systems, and serves as a subject-matter resource to district staff regarding records procedures and compliance requirements. The Central Registration Specialist ensures accuracy, confidentiality, and continuity of records and enrollment operations.

Qualifications Required:
Candidates must meet one of the following criteria to qualify for this position:
  • High School Diploma; post-secondary education preferred
  • Secretarial experience
  • Experience in working with the public/customer service
  • Excellent communication, organization, written, verbal and human relations skills
  • Strong computer and data entry skills
  • Previous experience using Infinite Campus software preferred
  • Knowledge of Minnesota Automated Reporting Student System (MARSS)
  • Extremely detail oriented, ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Ability to collaborate as a team member
  • Knowledge of FERPA and student records regulations
  • Ability to interpret policies and apply regulations to varied situations
  • Experience maintaining data integrity within student information systems
  • Ability to resolve non-routine records and authorization issues independently

Rate of Pay:
$24.64 per hour
