The Accounting Specialist supports the Accounting Department by processing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with both accounts receivable and accounts payable functions. This role communicates regularly with tenants, vendors, agencies, and internal teams to ensure financial information is handled accurately, consistently, and on time.
In addition to transaction support, the Accounting Specialist helps maintain organization across the department through documentation, shared inbox management, and administrative coordination, and provides backup support across departments as needed.
What You’ll DoProcess daily receipts, deposits, and financial transactions
Support accounts receivable and accounts payable workflows
Maintain organized digital records and documentation
Monitor shared inboxes and ensure timely follow-up
Communicate professionally with tenants, vendors, and internal teams
Assist with month-end tasks such as credit card reconciliations
Provide backup administrative support across departments as needed
Identify opportunities to improve workflow and efficiency
Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Foundational knowledge of accounting principles
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Comfort using accounting software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
Clear communication skills and a service-oriented mindset
Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow through to completion
Professionalism and discretion with confidential information
Property management or real estate experience is a plus but not required.
