Position SummaryThe Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) supports the Director of Nursing in overseeing the daily operations of the nursing department, ensuring high‑quality, resident‑centered care in accordance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
KeyDuties & Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating daily nursing operations
- Coordinate nursing services with other departments to ensure continuity of resident care
- Participate in state and federal surveys and inspections as requested
- Assist with discharge planning in collaboration with the Discharge Planning Coordinator
- Serve on the Quality Assurance and Assessment Committee as directed
- Review nursing documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with care plans
- Monitor medication passes and treatments for accuracy and timeliness; report medication errors promptly
- Provide direct nursing care as needed
- Ensure care delivered reflects resident preferences, rights, and wishes
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Previous supervisory experience in a nursing facility, or healthcare setting preferred
