Schedule:

Alternating start times weekly of 7 am / 8 am – 4:30 pm, variable schedule Monday – Friday.

Job Summary

The Medical Assistant (MA/MA Sr) is a healthcare professional and an essential member of the patient‑centered healthcare team. The MA/MA Sr is instrumental in helping the patient feel at ease while collaborating with the provider throughout the patient’s visit. The patient‑facing role is primarily responsible for performing hands‑on patient care and supporting providers while in clinic. Typical daily duties include interacting with patients while performing standard rooming, taking vitals, administering vaccines, setting up and turning over rooms, specimen collection, and assisting providers as needed.

Completing patient refill requests, following our standard system refill protocol. Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Remain compliant with all organization educational, licensure or certification requirements.
  • Cross‑train and float as needed to provide services across sites and to maintain optimal clinic operations.
  • Perform hands‑on patient care and support providers while in clinic.
  • Interact with patients while performing standard rooming, taking vitals, administering vaccines, setting up and turning over rooms, specimen collection, and assisting providers as needed.
Qualifications & Certifications

Education:

High school diploma (or GED) required plus one of the following: completion of an MA program, completion of an EMT‑Basic course, trained on the job MA and one year experience in health care, or completion of an MA Apprentice program. Certification:
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Providers (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent required within 90 days of hire.

Experience:

1 year of healthcare experience preferred. Medical Assistant Senior (MA Sr): HS Diploma or GED required. Certification: AHA BLS required within 90 days of hire. Additionally, one of the following is required: military medic/corpsman training, certified/registered medical assistant through one of the following: credentialed in A ‑OE, Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NRCMA, CCMA Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, or Certified Medical Assistant through the National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE);

certified paramedic, advanced EMT, graduated from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program and current active LPN license, or other certification from an approved body as maintained by Froedtert Human Resources.

Experience:

1 year of experience as medical assistant or in the field of the credential held is required.
