Tooling Designer – Metal Stamping
About the RoleWe’re looking for a skilled and motivated Tooling Designer to join our Engineering Team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute your expertise in tooling design and manufacturing processes within a leading metal stamping environment. In this role, you’ll design, develop, and optimize tooling solutions that support production goals, drive efficiency, and uphold the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop tooling for metal stamping processes, including dies, punches, fixtures, and related components.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to understand requirements, specifications, and production challenges.
- Create detailed 2D and 3D tooling designs using CAD software (Solid Works, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Conduct feasibility studies and simulations to optimize tooling for manufacturability and performance.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to source materials and components for tooling production.
- Perform design reviews to ensure tooling meets all quality, safety, and operational standards.
- Support troubleshooting and maintenance of existing tooling to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Maintain accurate documentation of tooling designs, modifications, and specifications.
- Stay current on industry trends and advancements in tooling technologies.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool Design, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Tooling Designer in a metal stamping or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software (Solid Works, AutoCAD, etc.).
- Strong understanding of stamping processes, materials, and manufacturing techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and teamwork.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Preferred:
- Experience with CAD/CAM integration and CNC machining.
- Familiarity with die design and fabrication processes.
- Knowledge of quality control standards in metal stamping.
