Tax Preparer

Description

We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to join our team remotely on a contract basis during the tax season in northern Michigan. This role requires strong expertise in preparing individual tax returns and proficiency with Ultra Tax software, specifically Sure Prep. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and skilled in managing high volumes of client tax documents efficiently.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare accurate individual tax returns in compliance with federal and state regulations.

- Utilize Ultra Tax software to input, review, and finalize tax documents.

- Verify client information and ensure all required supporting documentation is included.

- Assist in organizing and managing client intake processes during the busy tax season.

- Provide clear communication to clients regarding tax-related inquiries and updates.

- Maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive financial data.

Requirements - Proven experience in tax preparation, particularly with individual tax returns.

- Proficiency in using Ultra Tax software, preferably Thompson Reuters Ultra Tax CS.

- Familiarity with federal and state tax regulations.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.

- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines during tax season.

- High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

- Prior experience in a similar role is preferred.
