Vehicle Service Technician Responsibilities

• Routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, inspections)
• Brake, steering, suspension, and fluid system checks
• Replacing tires, brake pads/rotors, shocks, wiper blades, and light bulbs
• Diagnosing mechanical and intermittent electrical issues as needed
• Maintaining auxiliary equipment such as bike racks, cameras, fare systems, and wheelchair lifts
• Communicating with drivers and dispatch regarding vehicle status and maintenance schedules
• Maintaining repair and maintenance records in an automated system
• Approximately 70% of the role is scheduled maintenance, with 30% focused on troubleshooting and repairs.

Position requires regular communication and ability to safely work in an active maintenance environment. It is physically demanding and involves standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day. Employees must be able to lift and move items weighing 50 pounds or more as part of normal duties.

Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus while working with vehicle components and equipment.

Employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, fumes or airborne particles, and automotive fluids. Work may occur indoors and outdoors, including occasional temperature extremes.
