Role OverviewArgenta, MVS is looking to fill an Animal Care Technician role at our Manhattan, KS location. This position offers motivated, driven individuals the opportunity to multitask and work as a team, showcasing their ability to support animal research.
Responsibilities- Clean and perform daily chores under the direction of senior staff and veterinarians.
- Collect research data and samples in accordance with study protocols and Good Documentation Practices.
- Assist veterinarians in observations and procedures, and inform veterinarians of abnormalities.
- Promote and maintain the well‑being of animals including feeding and basic care.
- Repair, maintain and operate equipment/machinery.
- Perform administrative duties that support animal care and site functions.
- Record information accurately and timely.
- Build relationships with key individuals and contributors within and outside the organization.
- High school diploma or equivalent education and experience.
- Experience working with animals, large and small.
- Proven experience operating large farm equipment/machinery.
- Strong teamwork skills and composure under pressure.
- Excellent written and oral communication.
- Attention to detail and analytical drive.
- Dependability, flexibility and ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Willingness to be on call and in on‑call rotation, including weekends.
- Residence within a reasonable distance for on‑call purposes and procedures.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly.
