Strip & Test Operator - 3rd Shift

Position Summary

This position is responsible for the removal of mandrel and staging of hose for the Finishing Operator.

• Based upon work instruction, prepare the product for processing, and apply the designated pressure for blow‑out.
• Troubleshoot removal issues to maximize quantity of production.
• Remove excess water from processed hose.
• Complete associated paperwork and indicate length of hose for next stage processing.
• Transfer mandrel for next stage processing.

• Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment. Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately.
• Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner.
• Maintain production schedules.
• Participate in peer‑based teams (e.g., Natural High Performance Teams) and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5‑S.
• Other duties may be assigned at a later time.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: High School diploma or GED.
• Experience: Production work preferred but not required.

• Requires constant alertness to surroundings and product quality with attention to detail.

  Up to 10 lbs, 11‑20 lbs, 21‑50 lbs.
• Bending.
• Twist/Turn.
• Reach Below Knee.

• Squat/Kneel.
• Stand/Walk.
• Sit.
• Lifting Above Shoulders.

Occasional (1‑33%), Frequent (34‑66%), Continuous (67‑100%).

Employee must pass pre‑employment screening.

• Report directly to Value Stream Team Leader.
• Work closely with Maintenance to resolve issues with the equipment.

• High noise levels from operating machines and equipment.
• Physical hazards from operating machines and moving reels.
• Work in areas where safety equipment will be required (steel toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection).
• Standing, walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, turning, twisting, squatting, and lifting performed on a regular basis.
• Requires high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions.
• Requires flexible hours and short notice for overtime.
